Investment objective & strategy
As of Feb. 27, 2026 · prospectusObjective. Vanguard FTSE All-World ex-US Index Fund (the Fund) seeks to track the performance of a benchmark index that measures the investment return of stocks of companies located in developed and emerging markets outside of the United States.
Strategy. The Fund employs an indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the FTSE All-World ex US Index (the Target Index), a float-adjusted, market-capitalization weighted index designed to measure equity market performance of large- and mid-cap stocks in international developed and emerging markets, excluding the United States. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in stocks that make up the Target Index. The Fund attempts to replicate the target index by investing all, or substantially all, of its assets in the stocks that make up the Target Index, holding each stock in approximately the same proportion as its weighting in the Target Index.
