Strategy. Under normal circumstances, this Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in small-capitalization equity securities. The sub-adviser generally considers a company to be a small-capitalization company if the company has a market capitalization which was within the range of the Funds current benchmark index, the Russell 2000 Growth Index, over the last 13 months at the time of purchase. For the 13 months ending March 31, 2022, the market capitalization range of the Russell 2000 Growth Index was approximately $21.5 million to $13.9 billion. The sub-adviser focuses on investing the Funds assets in the stocks of companies it believes to have above average earnings growth potential compared to other companies (growth companies). Growth companies tend to have stock prices that are high relative to their earnings, dividends, book value, or other financial measures. The Fund may invest in equity securities and depositary receipts of foreign companies that are U.S. dollar or foreign currency denominated. The sub-adviser uses an active bottom-up investment approach to buying and selling investments for the Fund. Investments are selected primarily based on fundamental analysis of individual issuers and their potential in light of their financial condition, and market, economic, political, and regulatory conditions. Factors considered may include analysis of an issuer's earnings, cash flows, competitive position, and management ability. The sub-adviser may also consider non-financial factors where the sub-adviser believes such factors could materially impact the economic value of an issuer. Quantitative screening tools that systematically evaluate issuers may also be considered.
